Going through my Companion App, checking out the new features of the tower and I see that I can now purchase the Necrochasm, for glimmer and an Exotic Shard.
If you need the Grimoire or just want the weapon for completionists sake, IT'S AVAILABLE.

It says requires discovery for me, but the farthest I got was getting Husk of the Pit.
I guess I can delete the crux I have been hanging on to for no reason.
I wished I was able to get a crux. I had a couple Eidolon Ally's sitting around, waiting. But then the time hit when Husk of the Pit wasn't dropping at all. No Crux, no Husk, bad times. I still have an Eidolon Ally but haven't run Crota hard in a while
I’m with you. I played TDB at launch, and didn’t get my Husk until March. Upgraded it to Eidolon Ally that weekend, too. I only ran CE HM once though, so of course I didn’t get a Crux.

This. I got as excited as OP back when TTK released and it looked like I could buy it without discovery. Nope.
