Stats on Skins, Clearing It Up

So, what's the deal?

I've heard that the any stats come from pre-installed mods included with the skin, and that these are not in addition to normal mods and actually take up a modification slot. Except for apparently the Legendary skins, these can be replaced with any other mod. The question is, are these mods better than any other mods?

So, if these stat mods are part of the modification system, and not something special on top of it, and makes you choose between the skin mod or a regular one, and the skin mods don't get better overall bonuses than normal, it kind of makes this not that big of deal.

Of course, these unique mods are locked away, and the skins are an abusive system of gambling, we were blatantly lied to, they were implemented with no warning or discussion, and Almir made it clear that the players and community don't matter, only the money does.

Some skins do actually have stat-boosts that are unrelated to the attachments they may or may not come with. You can clearly see some says saying they give a stat boost, heck, even the Crimefest website example showed the 308 with a skin that gave a stat bost, before mods/attachments were applied. It's just a giant mess, some skins have stat boosts, some come with mods and a few, mostly legendary skins, have both, unique appearance that buffs the weapon to much higher stat boosts than you would ever be able to get though attachments/mods you own, even with every single DLC purchased.

So has it been confirmed that some skins give a bonus just for being a skin? Yeah, screw that noise more if so. I'm willing to give stats a break if they are connected to actual mods included, but nothing more than that.

Yeah, you can confirm this yourself, either check the Market, search Stat Boost and you'll find lots of skins that have no mods included, but still increase stats, or see the official Black Market page - http://www.overkillsoftware.com/games/blackmarket/ - http://media.overkillsoftware.com/2015/10/economy-gamechanger-newinfo.png - this example they show, clearly shows the rifle getting a stat boost from simply having a skin, before putting any mods on it. This boost is low, but this is the lowest grade skin to come with stat boosts.

Damnit, I was hoping that the first skin one had a mod on there, but it's definitely just a skin.

Screw this, they chose to put micro-transactions in after they said they wouldn't, and they made them balance changing. They screwed the pooch every which way.

Yeah. Honestly, I didn't much care about them adding microtransactions (Though it's stupid to have in a game you already have to pay to play, and that has a ton of DLC) but adding stats to skins, and clearly balancing the weapons in such a way that it's extremely hard or in some cases even impossible to hit certain breakpoints without stat boosting skins, is just beyond stupid. Sure, casual players may not notice or care all that much, and Almir already said they're more than happy with it, because they're making lots of money from it, but for vets and skilled players, it's yet another case of OVK screwing over the most dedicated fans in favor of profits over reputation.
