He is really doing his best to destroy his legacy
Surely this would improve his legacy, yes of course DPR Korea's government has a horrendous human rights record, but I'd say helping to encourage the development of football there can only be positive, especially for helping to improve relations with their neighbours to the south.
he also had the same thing at Anzhi though. Said he was there to improve human rights, build schools and hospitals and stuff. Then the moment the rich owner went he away, he left.
Why get involved with that place. Hope this is not real. The love affair between Qatar and football is bad enough already.
Why shouldn't North Korean kids have the opportunity to play football?

I'd imagine North Korean soccer players get fed very well. It's probably one of the few chances at a normal life there.
There are people starving to death in every nation on earth though, if we really had our priorities right we wouldn't spend any money on sport.

It is real. The NOS is never, ever wrong about such things.
There's even a video with him talking about it
Wow, fuck him.
Why?
This source is a little poor, sorry about that. It's legit, though. The Dutch NOS (guarenteed accurate) have reported on this as well.
It's sad. So fucking sad.
The man's one of the all-time manager legends in Dutch football, but this last decade or so (slightly under but fuck it) he's completely destroyed everything he had left in terms of integrity and reputation.
It's a shame.
Anyway, I thought this article might be of interest to some others here.
I'll always love him for getting Aus to the Ro16 in 2006 though!
IN GUUS WE TRUUST
I would like to point out though that this news is coming from NK News so it's most likely propaganda and isn't happening at all.
I went on "holiday" to NK a while ago, tis a funny place.
Given his history (Anzhi etc), I don't for a second believe any such noble intentions coming from that man.
I hope I'm wrong and you're right.
EDIT: Hey, you changed your entire comment on me there! Disregard what I said.
Haha sorry matey I didn't realise that the article is coming directly from North Korea itself when I made my first comment. They like to make stories up like this to make it appear that NK is an attractive place to be.
Hahaha, not to worry man, I meant no harm. I just had that moment where I thought I was crazy until I realized.

NK News is an independent source. It's KCNA you need to watch out for.
Ahh I see! Many thanks for that.
How was the holiday?
Been wrestling with the idea of going or not myself, I'm genuinely intrigued by the country. Don't really fancy being limited to guided tours of fake scenery though, I want to see the real North Korea.
It was absolutely bizarre. Flew to China and got a Helicopter to NK, was told not to wander off from the guide or he/she might get shot which is pretty daunting, I'm now responsible for a human life.
The tours were amazing, they'd take you to some hotel and say "Won't see something like this in the West, eh?" Despite it being like a travel lodge. Went to a museum about the Korean War where they have like, a broken down American tank or bits of an American plane where they'll tell you all about how they destroyed the American's.
Went to the only shop containing imported goods. Packet of ferrero rocher is £40...
We were never allowed to wander away from the guide but as a whole I enjoyed it, they were pretty easy going with pictures and I never felt in danger. It's such a bizarre place, I do recommend.
The mother land of Propaganda.
Who knows what is happening under that guide's nose
