Reminds me of this article I read entitled "Do Diffusion Lines Still Makes Sense". I think it would be nice to have lower priced FoG line since the demand is obviously there but I hope it's not just a money grab or barely any design/thought is put into the new line. I also think that Jerry Lorenzo should do what Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe did with CDG (Homme, PLAY, CDG CDG) and labeling the new line as an "extension of FoG" with it's own identity but at the same time keeping the concept that is behind the original mainline would be the way to go.

I don't think y3 is a diffusion line, just his collabs with adidas. I'm pretty sure "y's" is his diff line

I agree, but when does a collab stop being a collab; y3 has been around for a decade, and y3 is more known to be a part of Yohji than Adidas. Although Yohji has stopped working as much on y3 now to focus on his mainline

I think it's more of a side project from two separate companies/designers than a diffusion line, the same thing applies to Yeezy Season and Rick Owens Adidas line, its more than a collab but not quite a diffusion line, the main thing that separates it is that it's not a smaller line completely from the same designer, but its more than something that's only a couple pieces per year (like TNFxSupreme)

??? I think you don't understand what a proper diffusion is. Don't assume price means high fashion, just because something is cheaper does not stop it being high fashion.
A diffusion is just an alternate line created by the same designer, most of the time it is cheaper (barely) but that's not the point. Without diffusion the brand ethos and styling would be all over the place; imagine there was no 11byBBS, and he instead released it into the bbs line. That would make no sense as the clothing styles do not even match one bit, mainline bbs is avant garde and straight from his runway, while 11 is a focus on techwear and functionality
Give me an example where people have tried (and failed) to flex with a diffusion, because even something like cdg play can be flexed simply due to its pedigree

Definitely interested and excited to see how it turns out, but i would hate for the same thing that happened to Been Trill happen to Fog. No hate on Been Trill i actually have a couple of the Pac Sun pieces, but the quality is terrible on a lot of it.

How is been trill and fear of god even comparable? Been trill was a shitty screenprint brant just like hba whilst fear of god is quality cut and sew. The quality is terrible on "mainline" Been trill anyways.

HBA makes nice shit, whether you like the designs or not the quality is still there, also the only Been Trill tee I own (BTxKanyexAPC) is one of the nicest shirts I've ever had and the quality is most certainly on point, so saying that it's always been shitty is just a lie
