Chair recommendations for chill-mode

For years I've been using something like an armless desk chair, the only problem being it's not very comfortable. Recently I've been playing while standing, which I prefer to do when I'm really serious about practising.

What I'm looking for is a recommendation for a chair that would accommodate the times where I'm just noodling around. Looking for something comfortable for extended periods of time. Was considering a papasan chair, but fear it would pose the same problem I have with a couch (arms/elbows colliding with couch). Maybe there's just a better way to sit on the couch or hold the guitar on the couch?

Any ideas are welcome.

TIA

Maybe you're looking for something like an armless recliner or lounge chair?

I've been looking for a chair too! I was thinking about a stool with cushion but not sure..

You should look into "gliders." They're designed to be safe rocking chairs to use in babies' bedrooms. You can get them for $100 and up, and you don't have to install the arms. There's one called the "Pick-n-Glider" which is advertised as being built for guitarists, but it's just a nice glider with a thick cushion.

I haven't found anything better than my couch. I'll tell you from experience that a bean bag chair sucks for this and to not bother with one of them. Keep us updated.

I play almost exclusively standing up now, but way back when I used to use a Malawi chair that I bought in... Malawi ;) You may be lucky and have an african emporium near you that has them; a lot of African shops do and they're both comfortable and give your arms a considerable amount of freedom.

Only thing to bear in mind is that no 2 chairs are alike as they're all hand-crafted so if possible it's better to try one out before you buy it.

I'm guessing this'll be one of the weirder recommendations in this thread!
