Question about drained 18650s (like sub 2.4V)

So I left some 18650's (three of them) in a 260w box mod for couple months and they are dead. Charging them doesn't do anything. I've done some googling and learned a bit about "waking" up dormant cells, since they have protection inside the batteries. There are some videos on how to wake them, but involve non-household items to do so.

I have no problem ditching them since I read that once they do go to sleep, it is dangerous to keep using them. BTW, they are Samsung 25r batteries

If they've been under 2.0V or so for a while then they've been damaged and would probably be lousy performing batteries even if you did recover them.

Unfortunately, it's time to recycle them.

If you can get a hold of a charger like the xtar vc2 you might be able to revive them. They might not last as long as fresh ones but it might be worth the try.

Hehe, we'll if nitecore would offer some of the features that the xtar has I might try them, but I doubt they ever will.

I'd just get new 25R's. Avoid all the hassle.

I just picked up a set of four for my brand new X Cube II. Must say, these batteries really do impress.
