Let’s spend all of our nights
Chasing sunsets out of view
Bathe in fading sunlight
And love from you and me too

Let’s justify clichés
And put out cigarettes on the ground
Not because we like it
But it’s just what you do

Let’s sneak out of our houses
To go against our parent’s wishes
Meet each other in the middle
And not let go of each other’s hands

Let’s get drunk just to feel grown
Let’s never be alone

Let’s be angry at nothing
For no reason at all
And take it out on everyone except each other

Let’s drink coffee and brag
Let’s feel the school hours’ drag
Let’s embrace colder weather
Let’s spend all of our time together
Let’s break laws that don’t matter
Let’s pretend to not care about the chatter
Let’s drive fast
Let’s curse
Make love

Let’s barely pass school
Let’s set up camp in detention
Education is boring
Authority is lame
Math is for squares
Art captivates
Let’s express ourselves with a hand
Tell our parents they don’t understand
Before slamming and locking our doors

Let’s tell ourselves we were meant to be
Let’s dream of running off
Let’s hang out under the bleachers and waft smoke away
Let’s never think past today

Let’s cherish our sleep
Let’s do it together
When our parents are out of town
After staying up late
Watching films
Lying down

Let’s graduate high school
Let’s slowly lose touch
Let’s go off to college
Let’s not speak very much

Let’s meet new people
Who remind us of each other
Let’s start spending nights
Away from one another

Let’s grow up and start families
Let’s do it apart
But let’s not forget
Who first held our heart
