Completion
The tumultuous waves may crash deep into the sandy shoreline,
but not one droplet of water has reached the nearby city,
The omnipresent Sun may bake the Earth’s fields,
but no patch of grassland has been scorched into a pile of ash.
The ubiquitous people may have culminated across the dry land,
but no human has conquered the deep trenches of the azure ocean,
The raucous birds may have conquered the expansive skies,
but no avian has penetrated our Earthly atmosphere.
Perhaps it’s not meant to be,
or perhaps it’ll take more effort,
but time and time again,
things are just hard to complete.
