Ways to make cardio fun

Ok I'm sure like me a lot of our New Years goals is to loose weight. I would love some suggestions on how to make cardio in the gym more fun. I'm going to need it if I'm doing it for an hour 5 days a week. My current twists are Tabatas and using the step up to do movement drills. I also sometimes will use ladders. These are all awesome ways to change up your cardio. I was thinking that battle ropes might be a good idea as well

Kettlebells have been awesome for my cardio work. You can mix things up and get a phenomenal workout. Couple examples:

2 minutes of skipping followed by 1 min kettlebell swings

x 5-10 rounds

or one I use from Tactical Barbell 2:

10 kettlebell swings

10 burpees

60 seconds rest

x 5-10 rounds

You might get some useful info from yesterday's post on the same topic:

Learn how to shuffle. It's a good cardio workout, plus, you get to learn how to dance!

I prefer to be outside, regardless of weather, over gym cardio; seem to never get bored that way. Other than that, podcasts and videos are great for steady state cardio. Or... lift more, reduce calories, and skip some of those projected 5 hours.
