I have to write a poem for school and I would like feedback as soon as you guys can ;)

I have to write a poem for tomorrow and I need help to improve my poem:

"Malala Yousafzai was a student from Pakistan,

She stood for women's rights; she was shot by the Taliban.

Malala was from the small town of Mingora in the Swat District,

Despite all the fighting there, she was still optimistic,

She spoke out in a blog about Taliban rule. She fought brave and hard to be allowed to school,

On the 9th of October, she was shot in the head by a gunman,

She had lots of medical treatment and was a very strong woman,

She had two five hour operations on the 2nd of February,

All this pain was really unnecessary.

On the 12th of July, she spoke at the United Nations,

She begged people for peace and laid down some foundations,

She told all the leaders: "the pen is mightier than the sword",

All the world leaders understood and she was very much adored.

Her mother and father are proud that she has soared,

For her speaking, she has won many awards,

She was nominated for the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize,

All because she spoke out against the Taliban lies.

She published a book about the Taliban,

The book was even banned in some places of Pakistan,

She was a candidate for the TIME magazine person of the year,

For making her intentions very clear.

Malala Yousafzai has endured a lot of pain,

She has told the world that education isn't a game,

Even though the Taliban have tried once to kill,

They have said they want to assassination her still."

The vocabulary is really bad so if anybody has any words they think should replace anything let me know!

I am only 14 so please be nice.
