Camry suddenly rocks left/right, pulls to left
My 1997 Camry (had it for 3 years) has developed a fault where I feel like I'm on a rocking boat in high seas!
At any speed when I release the steering wheel, it veers to the left and steering wheel spontaneously turns counter-clockwise. At low speeds, you can feel a definite left/right rocking motion, and the steering wheel rocks left/right with a bias to turning counter-clockwise. The rocking motion is twice per second at low speed, so I not sure if its tyre problem. At higher speeds it feels like a rocking boat.
I've checked the type pressure & run my hand around the tyres, all good.
Recent maintenance was to take off each wheel, inspect each wheel, & spray WD-40 in the wheel nuts. I just confirmed all the wheel nuts are tight. The rubber part at the top of the suspension is mostly worn away too so I see a stainless steel rod.
Edit; Replaced the left front wheel with the (new) spare, drove around the block, same issue.
u/dsmaxwell No play when I shake the wheel in the air. Wheel did not rotate freely so maybe a wheel bearing. No trees or objects near the brakes, What I did see is the rubber flange surrounding the front axle, behind the brakes closer to the motor, has a hole so anything could have gone in there.

Did you try to shake the wheels while they were in the air? Any play whatsoever indicates worn suspension components which should be replaced. After that, get an alignment.
Thanks, I'll try that soon.
