Eternity

It wasn’t, but it hit me like the first time.

Lighting me on fire when I looked into your eyes.

A rainy day, a foggy week, a cloudy year,

My spirit couldn’t sadden if ever you were near.

I miss your cinnamon skin. Tattoos. Even Daddy hating you.

The hardest part is admitting he was right.

But I still love you & dream about the night

when I knew the end was soon.

I laid my head on your chest and breathed in every bit of you.

That memory will be with me

for all of eternity.

It’s been a long 10 years without you here.

My heart may never belong to me again.

My greatest fear.

You see, I married my best friend.

But I will always be your baby, forever until the end.
