Mono Green Vlad Ramp ideas

I'm all into the idea of making my mono Green deck a Vlad ramp with some cards to try and stall aggro.

My deck looks something like this.

Ruler: Vlad Tepes

4x Elvish Priest 1x Gretel (waiting on three more) 1x Fiethsing (waiting on one more) 4x Hansel and Gretel 2x Djinn, Spirit of the Lamp 4x Christie, the Warden of Sanctuary 2x Darwin 3x Blessing of Yggdrasil 2x Behemoth (these will be removed) 1x Ratatoskr, the Spirit Beast of Yggdrasil 1x Refarth, the Wind Castle 3x Scheherazade, the Teller of Crimson Moon 3x Melfee, the successor of the Sacred Wind (will be removed)

Counters and Tempo cards

Absolute Cake Zone x4 Law of Silence x2 Keen Sense x4

I haven't had any Xeex but I'm trying to get more control or tempo control without giving up on Mono Green.

You can shove 4 black green and 4 red green stones and you get access to so much removal, which you honestly need. How do you deal with constant tempo creatures?

I felt the same, but I was trying to find away. I guess I'll splash red and throw in the traditional red burn.

Red is good. Thunder abd you have burn to cinders if you want it.

I added Thunders and a full set of crime and punishment and demonflames.

C & P is best used as sideboard against rulers. Its a bit too slow to use as normal removal. Sure it kills them for one mana, but they already hit you or killed one of your guys. Its pretty goid sometimes, stops a susan after he kills something for sure. Just awkward.

It will be very hard for you to ramp into your bigger resonators, if you are spending all your Will on counter spells.

I agree with u/WoMyNameIsTooDamnLon

You need more resonator control, not just spell control.

I dont quite understand your insistence on keeping the deck mono-green when 1) Vlad works with any color since you are never flipping, 2) you can add dual stones without sacrificing Gretel potential, and 3) black has the best removal in the game.

Stoning to Death, Endless Night and Dark Purge are staples. The first especially... its like the best card in the game, especially with Vlad. Run it man!

Other things that you'll find are dope:

  • Scorn of Dark Alice: This card dumpsters Rukh Eggs, which are popular in a lot of aggro decks, which are the decks that counter Vlad. They need to play the card they grab from the Rukh Egg that turn, or else it just gets put into their graveyard. Deals with Lancelots really well.

  • Dark Purge: Also a fuck you to Lancelot, which again is one of your biggest opponents as Vlad

  • Soulhunt: really good tempo card that only get better as you have cards that play from your graveyard. Since you are playing mono-green that isnt a thing, so the card isnt as good, but it is still one of the best ways you're gonna have to get rid of Arthur Pendragon, King of the Round Table, among other single big resonators. You can tell i play against a lot of knights decks.

Artemis, the God's Bow. Essential to Vlads decks, since they disincentivise attacking you, which coincidentally is the only way to beat Vlad.

I play a ramp green/black Vlads deck. Black spells are too good to pass up. Include them in your deck!
