A Cheeky Poem for a Girl Named Breakfast
I thought I saw you in a dusty book
Stalking inky blots like Nick Carraway
But wasn't it all just a clever hook
With your chocolates and cabernet?
You never were that fancy
But I tell you awfully politely
Please, I love you anyway
I thought I saw you in the sandy dunes
Burning in the ultraviolet
Your 4x4 left tracks in the afternoon
And vanished with the climate
The heat has turned me ruby
Or am I blushing much too fiercely?
See, you have me in a daze
I thought I saw you in a rocket ship
Forming branches of the universe
You kissed the stars with your rosy lips
And I stood to gain that curse
Your black hole eyes have got me
I can't escape your gravity
Look, you've caught me all the way
