What's the last game you played through with your significant other?

Yesterday, I watched my guy play Undertale for the first time, FINALLY. I'm not just happy I can talk to him about spoilers now, it was a great way to spend a lazy Saturday. Taken gaymers! What are you playing with your significant other?

We both play Ark: Survival Evolved. For the record, it has caused more fights than real life problems.

My wife and I played Tearaway: Unfolded. (Sorry I'm in a hetero relationship... we're both queer, though.)

Pssh, this ain't r/gayandgayalonemers, straight couples are just as welcome. Glad you're both having fun.

Netzapper•

Thanks. :) I know it's an inclusive community. I think I just feel like our queerness is invisible, so I have to state it explicitly.

My wife didn't grow up gaming, so it's always special when we do get to share a game together. Before Tearaway was Little Big Planet.

My bf and I have a PS4, so Diablo 3 and some Magika 2. I'd love to see other recommendations! It's too bad that most games are online and not local... I wonder if one day we'll have two consoles so we can play together online...

What about Gauntlet? My BF and I started playing it a few weeks ago because we loved the one for the Gamecube.

CriticalDerpOP•

Gotta second Gauntlet, it's the first game we ever beat together so I have a soft spot for it.

Shang_Zheng•

Yes! I do actually have that too. I like it but it's fairly short and casual.

CriticalDerpOP•

We used to play Diablo on PS4, but he'd get snuggly and sleepy and we'd never get far. Equal parts adorable and irritating!

2
Shang_Zheng•

haha he'd just spend a lot of time on his armor, etc. and I have to sit there and watch and wait for a turn to review my stuff

I play every game with my hand...

We're both playing in a Pathfinder game and by beau is gonna GM Vampire: the Masquerade for us starting tomorrow night. Seriously, dating a guy who also rolls funny-shaped dice is the best!

2
CriticalDerpOP•

Agreed. I'm GMing a Pathfinder campaign that he's in and he's by far the best roleplayer in the group, he really plays Rogue expertly as far as personality goes. He's not the best in combat, but he's getting better.

We used to play a fair amount of don't starve and risk of rain together. We tend to play different things though - he's all over the ps4 and steam and I'm more into mmos and mobas

We're trying to break our deadlock in Fifa 16, if that counts. We've played countless seasons against each other and every season ends up in a draw.

Other than that, we quite often do Pokémon runs together.

2
CriticalDerpOP•

Fifa's a game, of course it counts.

Portal 2. Just hilarious. I think at one point I stepped off a switch so he was crushed into a million bits about 16 times in a row.

Diablo 3. First game I've gotten him to play with me for more than an afternoon

My BF and I were playing Captain Toad together. We love solving things so it was perfect. Then we just finished playing Yoshi Wooly World which took a long time since we have to 100% everything haha.

Now we started playing Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes and we kick ass at it haha. So fun. I recommend it for any couple to play!

The adorable boy I've been seeing and I played through the coop levels of a fun puzzle platformer called Kalimba yesterday. Great date activity, solving puzzles together.

Last full playthrough was Portal 2, but we've played Don't Starve, The Forest, Dead Space 3 and Worms Armagedden together. We generally like different genres, so it's hard to find crossover. :3

zelay•

I get that. Our cross over zone is mostly single player RPG games, so we have a lot of trouble too.

Played until dawn with him on PS4, I highly recommend this as a couples game, it's not long and usually a really cheap game to pick up. Plus it's horror themed so... cuddles....

2
CriticalDerpOP•

That's how I played it. He got it and beat it on his own, then brought it over and got me to play it so he could see what kind of choices I'd make.

Prob best to establish the relationship first rather than playing this game at the start if you have an especially dark personality 😂

We're both playing through Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. It's a lot of fun and he's really into it, despite him never being into Digimon while growing up.

We're hoping this will hold is over until Fire Emblem: Fates is released. :)

Finishing Battleblock Theater soon. Surprisingly funny, cheerful game.

The last game my husband and I played together was Guild Wars 2. When we had time we could be found in WvW with twin charr mesmers that looked exactly alike. It confused people, especially when we both started pooping out clones.

1
CriticalDerpOP•

I used to play that with an ex. I'm kind of at an "I've seen and done everything and I don't even know if an expansion will help" stage with that game, though.

kb1999•

The expansion did bring out some nice new content, but my time is very limited lately. Right now we are setting up our living room to play ME3 and DAI together, by taking turns making choices in the games.

Hyrule Warriors. My hand was a bit sore by the end but we both loved it. ;)

Saints Row IV. So much fun.

My fiance and I just finished Donkey Kong 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. We've also played a bit of Trine 2 recently, but mostly he's been playing Witcher 3 and I've been sort of working through DA:O.
