I'm thinking of getting into kayaking, but for the moment I'm going to stick with rentals until I know for sure if I like it. One of my big concerns about it is my car. I drive a Scion iQ, which is absolutely tiny and has no roof rack or trailer hitch. I know roof rack solutions exist, but are there any that would work well with my tiny 2-door car? Also, is a 12-foot kayak out of the question with a car that small?

I love Borderlands' skill-tree-style character development, but I've already played it to death and am looking for something new. I'd like something where the levels come a little faster and builds start solidifying and feeling unique sooner than in Borderlands. Normally I'd go to Torchlight for this, but I've played it to death as well.

Preferably, I'd like something:

  • More action-oriented than strategy-oriented
  • With fast progression - around the speed of Torchlight 2
  • Where build matters, but with easy respeccing in case you go down a road you don't like.

It seems like hanging out on r/worldnews (or simply keeping up with major events) is an easy way to become fearful of things that are largely out of my control. Climate change, resources running out, overpopulation, and things of that sort come together to make me worried that the world is only going to get worse, and at the extreme end of things, that some sort of collapse will happen in my lifetime. I'm aware that bad news sells and tends to drown out the good, which is part of why these worries are bothering me.

This is less a question about which fears are valid and which are not (though there's certainly room for discussion), and more a question about how to keep it all from dragging

Before I begin, this is based mostly in personal experience, so I may be completely off-base here.

An odd trend I've noticed, at least in my area, is that modern "praise band" churches tend to be a lot more conservative than traditional "organ and hymns" churches. Weeks ago, my parents left their contemporary church because it was getting too much for their taste - it had just enacted a "gays can't be members, women can't be leaders" policy that caused a lot of people to leave. My parents ended up going to a traditional church we used to be members of years ago and had a conversation with the pastor, who has no problem with women leading and gays joining. That attitude is prevalent in tha
