This is getting a little crazy.

A store can't carry everything. So now if I want something specific I have to go hunt it down (which Hy-Vees carry Union Jack again?). And with so much "good" beer, how long will it all sit around? It might force some "bad" beer off the shelf though.

I've been concerned for awhile that my favorite store (N St in Lincoln) does not turn it's inventory enough to keep fresh beer on the shelves. Mostly due to the sheer number of varieties they carry. Also, the immense selection is daunting sometimes. They are definitely at the point where they have to carefully choose what to purchase so they aren't hurting themselves.

That being said, I'm super excited for F-W because they are one of the most respected brewers out west and I've only had the opportunity to sample them a few times while traveling.

I was just at N. St today and I definitely see your worry. They still had some Harvest Ale from Founder's, which I think would be way past its prime. And, once on their discount shelf they had a double IPA from Boulevard so I asked if it was on discount because it was old. They said no and it was about 5 months past its expiration date. I feel like management there knows their stuff but the clerks definitely don't.

Moran's is my go to spot and I feel that they will handle this really well. Just last year we got so many new breweries distributing here such as Evil Twin, Crooked Stave, and Prairie, and Moran's always has fresh beer in stock. They also have significantly less beer in stock and tend to focus on special and seasonal releases which will help with this problem.

N St just recently started carrying a couple Against the Grain brewing beers out of Louisville, Kentucky. they seem to have the best nationwide variety here in Lincoln

I've not heard of them. Have you tried it? Thoughts or recommendations for Against the Grain?

i bought a 4 pack of their nut brown when i was in Nashville and enjoyed the hell out of it. it comes in a 4 pack of 16oz cans. it's called the "Brown Note" and has a dude standing in shit stained tighty whities. the can is off putting but the beer is excellent. i was tired and slightly hung over when i originally saw the can in Nashville, laughed and had to try it. they also have a stout from them at N St but i'm not a huge fan of stouts

Edit: go to their site and check out all the names of their beers. a good majority of them are original and hilarious. i like the fact that they aren't afraid to offend PC people.

Not always convenient for a west Omaha yuppie, but I definitely get there when I can! It's just that sometimes a guy needs diapers and beer.

Both Firestone and Avery will be pouring at our EBF on 2/27

Will there be a list of beers being poured available online before the fest?

I'll try to see that one gets posted once the list is finalized

I like that the homebrewers are by the education and seminars area. Seems like a good fit

I was curious about this. I'm looking forward to seeing what they bring.
