Best way to find a local, casual woodworker for a small project?
Hi /woodworking. I've got an idea in mind for a project I'd like to try, but part of it needs some woodworking done. Basically I need a small box made, as good looking as possible, but very specific with some inlay and small details added. I'd like someone local (Boston) who I can sit down with and figure out specifications with in person. Are there woodworking clubs or groups for hobbyists? What's a good way to find one? I've tried craigslist, angies list, etc and had no luck so far. Little help?

Here's a link to the Eastern Mass Guild of Woodworkers who are taking commissions. I've seen some of these guys work and they are phenominally good. http://emgw.org/Taking-Commissions
Wow that was quick and sounds exactly like what I need. Thanks man
No problem. I'm a member of that guild but am not taking commissions and quite frankly, am nowhere near as good as most of these guys. If you click on some of the members, there will be a gallery at the bottom with some of their prior work. (not all of them have a gallery though)
Looking at them now. Only a few have any details listed about where they are or what they do, but it's a starting point. I'll go digging some more.
