you know what your problem is? I had the same issue too. You see something, you get exited, you dont look! its not about calculation, it is not about remembering, it is JUST about PATIENCE. Take your time and LOOK at the position, even if it looks really obvious. e4 was not protected. BREATH and LOOK. just trying to be helpful.

You sir, are exactly right. You saw my issue cristal clear. I think I need to be reminded about relaxing and looking more often, expecially OTB, where I'm even worse at that! So, thank you very much, I'll write part of your comment and write it on a sticky note :)
