Oohh thanks for looking out dude!
Ughhhh, I was totally on a freeze. But I had to pick up those Sumi Ink that I've been looking at for a few months now.
Picked up a brown chambray shirt. I was able to resist the reflective denim, somehow. Thanks for the heads up!
Good looking out. Picked up some broken twills
Out of curiosity how did you find out about the sale? I shop a lot at T&Y but didn't receive an email or anything. May have bought some more stuff if I had any clue it was happening.
Instagram!
their facebook posted aswell. always good to follow them
Obviously all the sick denim jackets are gone.
Is there any Canadian who thinks their "OHCANADA" code is a rip off? They only reduce the conversion by 20%, yet the truer rate is something closer to 26% and almost 30% only a while ago.
I'm still contemplating whether or not to buy.
Canadian here, and yep. It sucks that as a Canadian buying from a Canadian store I have to get fucked on conversion (with a code that just means I get less fucked).
We've already got jack shit options right now - between our weak dollar (0.74 on the USD, which is actually the best it's been in a long time) and our ridiculous customs fees (we get charged on everything over $20, and the fees are stupid high), buying from outside Canada is a shitshow unless you can convince the seller to mark your item as a low value package. In light of that, it sure feels like a betrayal to have a Canadian store give us worse prices than the US, even though it makes sound business sense.
It is now. They started it last spring I think when the exchange was pretty comparable. I guess at a point they have to draw a line though.
It's only a ripoff if buying Naked and Famous products. If you buy Japanese product from them, you have to remember that they bought those goods in US dollars. Their prices on Big John, Oni, Momotaro etc. get pretty close to Denimio with the 20% of coupon. I got my Big Johns from T&Y for $228 USD, Denimio price was $227.
Just curious and no offence intended (I apologise if I did). In that case why don't people just buy direct from Denimio (free shipping with min spend of $100-ish?) in the first place (unless for certain special collaboration editions).
I don't understand the question; lots of people DO buy direct from Denimio.
Edit: sorry I think I get now that you were asking why I personally paid a dollar more. I think it's worth it to support a small business whose owners have been instrumental in bringing these products to light. Further, Denimio prices go way up if you do the right thing and pay the fair duties and taxes. T&Y has already paid the import fees for me so in fact their product is cheaper than Denimio, unless you want to skirt the law.
Thanks for the clarifications! Because I'm thinking in a pov of if Denimio price is equal to US/Canada sales price, why not the people there just buy directly at Denimio anytime and have lots of varieties to choose from.
But partly my pov is kind of flawed too, as I'm based in Singapore, we only get tax if the item is more than $400 SGD (approx $285 USD), so generally most Denimio stuffs won't get tax legally too.
(Just curious and also thinking a bit on consumer standpoint)
Thanks again!
