On a dark night
There was a change approaching with darkness
As dreary and silent as ever
Creeping throughout with sordid starkness
Savoring the times it made me shiver.
Forced into an abyss of suspense,
A swirl of thoughts invade my mind
Entwined with a mirage of strange omens,
Inescapable fear they cause when combined.
A quick movement startled me out of my gripping fear
Inspiration struck me like a lightening bolt
All the horrid thoughts seemed to simply disappear
As I rushed homeward with a jolt.
Is it fate, or is it in my head?
This spike of excitement made me wonder
The tunes of such whimsical dread
For which our weak hearts give way to enormous plunder.
