My Darling Dearest
My darling dearest
It's time our collective facade come to an end
The words we spoke to adorn ears
Have now fallen astray as the years pass
Glistening eyes and hopeful smiles
Fade to something more longful
For who I am is far from who I was
Youthing coupling grew hopeful aspirations
That neither of us could keep
The love we carried was never enough to fuel
Everything we had hoped and dreamed
What was left with, is us
A tired pair left to rot aside one another
Neither spite nor malice grow between the two
Though the dying spark now rest in ash
From the monster I have the capacity to be
I shall leave that ash to stay
That heart you carry is not mine to break
Those emotions you hold to bare behind thin gates
As a gift, my heart lay open
Ready for the bruise
But until that batter, I regret what I keep
For somewhere deep inside
I know that you adore me and that I used to love you
