Backstory; I just got back from a holiday in Costa Rica, which was nice. The best part about it was the huge abundance of rum. The first pic is a duty free shop at the airport. Most stores outside of the airport were similar, huge selection at prices a fair amount under what you'd spend in the US. Zacapa and Flor De Cana came in 1.75s, a 2 pack of those for $90.

With less selection, Centario and Flor De Cana were everywhere. Stands in every supermarket and corner store. The bars all had it, with Flor De Cana 4 year as their well rum. I don't think I saw captain or bacardi at a bar once. The bars cost about what you'd pay here for a cheap mixer, but with way better stuff. I've found decent stuff in bars from time to time, but I can count the places in Boston with Zacapa or De Cana on one hand.

Last year I went to Puerto Rico, where they make Don Q, and the place was a dry county compared to this place. A++++++ would recommend.

This is good to know. I head down to costa rica in about 3 weeks. Looking forward to the abundance of rum.

Parents just brought me a bottle of Centenario 30 años from their Panamá layover. Cannot recommend enough.

Also, that second picture: children's stuff on the top, fire stuff on the bottom. Fortunately the top shelves have inflatable pools to put out the fire caused by the bottom shelves that you will make after enough drinking from the left shelves
