Every Crowd is Boring if When I Laugh I Don't Look at You
Every morning I wake up
To a rhythm,
a newly-founded faith
A mighty, happy, oath.
I will meet people.
I will giggle and wave.
And talk in groups,
undaunted, up-beat.
Be in large, joyous crowds,
with all the people
I yearn to meet.
friends I want to keep.
laughs I want to hear
Jokes I want to coin.
and shamelessly repeat.
But then I think of you.
The light breeze of wind
As I enter a room where
we used to hang out
A smell, a lonely walk.
It's okay to miss you,
to hold the memories
good and bad,
everything we've had,
but it leaves me
all sour, hollow,
and sad.
Everyone I meet lacks
something you had
Every crowd is boring
If when I laugh
I don't look at you.
