On Loss
So let the tides glide you away
On a ship with no sail
Miles past the horizon
Where no earthly beauty
Can compare, it seems,
My love, you've lost your fare
The sights and sounds immaculate
Remain untainted in yellowing
Beauty they can't articulate
Or formulate in glassware
Remembrance, who deems,
My dear, they'll never compare
Far beyond the tides of time
Lies a bottomless well
Of everlasting tranquillity
Now bursting at seams with
Your care, your treat,
My love, you've beaten me there
