The Failed Alchemist
‘The Failed Alchemist’
For a man to accomplish
in the brevity of life;
his purpose must he realise
and the will to bear his strife.
For many long before him,
have laid themselves in vain;
from the cradle to the graveside
the mourners stand in pain.
Self help, quick guides and
the likes he tried to find;
in the solemn search for stimulus,
to catalyse his lazy mind.
Corner cutting, penny pinching,
frugal freak he was,
‘The antithesis of charity’,
sadly selfishness - the cause.
(apologies about the poor formatting - I'm still unsure how to properly do so)
