What More Can One Do?

Your lips are so red

The most beautiful sound comes from them

I listen to every word you speak

As if they were the last you'd ever spoke

We talk about anything and everything

As the sun begins to rise

A warm glow surrounds you

I want to embrace it

My insecurities start to fester at me

Deep within my being

Turning a beautiful moment

Into something to fear and question

It's funny how worrying about ruining something

Can ultimately be the thing that ruins it in the end

I'm trying my best to fight it

To keep my head leveled

You are there to reassure me

Like the amazing being you are

All my life I struggled with feeling adequate

Not being worthy of having what is between us

My mind wanders to what-ifs digging myself into a hole

Until I find myself not wanting to leave my bed

I want to do things differently

Push through and be okay

To not let my mind trick me

Making me feel less than myself

You'll continue to being incredible

I'll continue to try
