Two Hearts

It takes but a moment for things to change  
For your world to fall apart  
As you notice hearts begin to sway  

Try as you might, there is no going back  
Two can't fight for something one lacks  

Pray, cry, hide your pain,  
Tell yourself you'll find a way  

Numb yourself with beer  
Let whiskey hide your fears  
After all you want it to work, you think  
Or maybe you don't, as you have another drink  

You can wish all day to make things right  
But what happens when you lose your fight?  

Play pretend, keep bad thoughts at bay  
Tell yourself you'll find a way...
