Neurotic Dreams of Paradise
Eyelids, deep black gates,
Opening to light brown wood
Walls and slanting roof
Sunlight shining on
All things outside - a few rays
Come through the windows
Fields, farmhouses
And little streets - surrounded
By natural landscapes
Still, unblemished scene,
Tinged gold in the light - too far
Off to see details
Soil trampled by
Quick thudding feet - head up, eyes
Unblinking, outward
Reclining against
The fence, slumb'rous - stiffening,
Swivelling to see
Motionless mirror;
Eyes locked to eyes; agape - warm
Flesh enveloping
Word, word, word about
This arrival, and others -
Sight, sight, sight around
Arm stretching behind,
Pulling closer - reaction:
Equal and opposite
As before, so now,
That that's under emerging -
Away from the milk
Bright cyclorama,
Motion, colour - opening
To stark white plaster
