Locals Report: Top 8 with BA Chaos Dragons

I ended up building this deck IRL and taking it to locals. I've made a few modifications to the list since then. This is the list I brought to the tournament: http://imgur.com/o0iNerX I would be running Galaxy Cyclones instead of MST, but was unable to trade for them beforehand. I did alright in a 20+ person locals somewhat competitive, with some people running meta decks, going 2-2 with decent tie-breakers to sneak in at 8th place.

Round 1 vs Kozmonarchs (2-0)

Game 1: I win the dice roll, choose to go second. He normals Edea, I veiler it, he passes turn, and then I don't remember the middle parts of this game, but I do remember that at the end, I got him down to exactly 2k LP, I had about 6k, and he ends a turn after overlaying 2 slipriders for nova into infinity and then summoning a Majesty's Fiend. I out the majesty's fiend by summoning Lightpulsar from grave, since it can't prevent an inherent summon. He absorbs lightpulsar with infinity on his turn, and summons an Edea to poke for more damage. I topdeck BLS with a hand full of other BA monsters. I SS 2 BAs, and overlay into Nightmare Shark, forcing his Infinity's negation, and then summon BLS and swing twice for game. He tries to summon Ehther, but doesn't have a Monarch S/T in grave.

Game 2: He chooses to go first. Activates reasoning, and summons Eidos off of it. Tributes Eidos for a Vanity's Fiend, and passes turn. I normal summon Raiden, mill 4 and pass turn. Crucially here, Electromagnetic Turtle is milled. As it turned out, he didn't have another way to remove Raiden other than by battle next turn. I tribute Raiden for Caius to banish Vanity's and ran him over from there since he happened to brick with no big monsters. He was one of the better players in the tournament, in the end finishing 3-1, with his only loss being to me.

Round 2 vs Chronomaly (Artifact?) Traptrix (0-2)

Game 1: OK, so this guy was watching the end of my game and knew what I was playing. He wins dice roll and goes first. Pulls a real BM move by playing Prohibition t1 and calling Scarm. Summons Myrmyleo and searches Time-Space Trap Hole, sets 3 and passes. I opened with 2 MST's, Lumina, and some other garbage. I blind MST one of his facedowns, hitting the Time-Space. I normal Lumina, on the end phase mill, hit farfa, banish and return lumina for another mill 3. He beats over my lumina with myrmyleo and passes. I topdeck Dark Armed and clear the rest of his backrow. Swing over his myrmyleo. He summons nebradisk, searching crystal skull, discarding crystal skull searching golden jet, sets 2, passes. I cleared the nebradisk and his set, but wasn't able to push for game. He summons the golden jet, and brings back the nebra disk, overlaying for nova into infinity, taking my DAD. I don't have enough resources at this point to play through Infinity and lose.

Game 2: Ok, I probably should have sided in D.D. Crow to banish Nebra Disks, but was dumb and chose to put in Royal Decrees instead. I choose to go first, hoping to see a Decree. I open with Raiden mill 4, eclipse wyvern, and 3 spells, and pass. He summons Nebra disk, does his search for golden jet, prohibitions scarm again, and sets 2. I topdeck Caius to go with the Tefnuit in my hand. I SS tefnuit, and he Time-space trap holes it. I SS a BA monster and tribute it for Caius targeting his remaining backrow, with the intent of then using the Chaos Sorcerer in my hand to banish nebra disk. He flips the set backrow which is bottomless. I then try to Chaos Sorcerer banish but he drops effect veiler and gets infinity next turn and I lose after that since I committed too hard on that last play. I was told later that this guy runs Chronomaly Artifact Traptrix, but I didn't see any Artifact at all in this match. He also finished 3-1 in the end.

Round 3 vs Spellbooks (2-0)

Game 1: He wins dice roll, goes first, summons Kycoo, and sets 4. I open with Charge of the Light Brigade, searching Raiden to go with the Lumina I had in hand. I synchro for Michael, but he flips Lose 1 Turn. I pass turn. He does nothing and passes back. I banish his Kycoo, and then SS many things from hand, including a DAD, wiping his backrow, which turned out to all be bluffs, and OTK from there.

Game 2: He chooses to go first again. Plays Spellbook Crescent and gets the Grand Spellbook Tower. Summons a Justice of Prophecy and activates his Tower. End phase, banishes his Justice for the search, and passes. I open a ridiculous hand. I SS 2 BA monsters, overlay for Dante, mill 3 hitting graff, minerva, and farfa. Use graff to summon Barbar from deck. I Charge to search a Raiden. Normal summon Lumina, Barbar is destroyed, activate effect to burn for 900. SS Raiden from grave by discarding Raiden. Synchro for Ancient Sacred Wyvern and overkill this guy by a lot.

Round 4 vs Yosen-Kaiju

Game 1: I didn't know what he was playing going into this round, but he wins dice roll and makes me go first. I commit to a T1 beatrice. He searches Kyoutou Waterfront with Terraforming and then tributes my Beatrice for for the 3k Kaiju and summons the 3.3k one on his side, beats over it. Then he activates Kaiser Coliseum and I have no outs.

Game 2: Choose to go second. He sets 3 and passes. I Foolish graff to summon scarm from deck, SS another BA from hand, overlay for Dante, but Dante gets hit by Solemn Strike. I normal summon a Raiden, mill, and pass. He searches Waterfront, tributes Raiden for the 3k guy, SS gamaciel and then uses Kama 1 to bounce the 3k kaiju to his hand. He swings for a lot of damage. I try to get over Gamaciel, having 3 outs, in Chaos Sorcerer, DAD, and BLS. He negates twice, and I expect him to have no more answers, but he flips MST to destroy his other backrow, giving him 2 more counters. I scoop after that. We were both 2-1 at this point, so he finished 3-1 as well.

So, seeing that I only lost to players in the top 8, my tiebreakers were pretty good, considering I had also beaten one of the other 3-1 top 8 guys. I got 3 OTS packs and pulled OK. I got an ulti Bountiful Artemis, super Monkeyboard, super Dinoster, and an Allure of Darkness. I got a super Skullcrobat Joker from the participation pack too. I think if I had made better choices in siding and had a bit more matchup knowledge on Kaijus this might have gone better.
