Post Work Trip
I've never really ever posted any original work up for the world to read so this is kind of a big thing for me.
A cushioned seat, I sit
On aerated corrugated leather. It’s warm
Heating element soothes, I’m lost
A few seconds muteness. It’s broken
Sounds have been there all along, They moan
All ache for entertainment, Lost now
Music that embraced and enchanted, Replaced by
Infantile screams for sugared treats, I grind
Teeth gnash and pulse soars, I clench
As vision burns and rage scours the air, Resist
Want to scream and pound and shout, I quiver
Missiles rest on swollen tongue, Encased by
One door shuts and then another, I’m foxed
Strapped down as sweet venom burns my lips, Can’t escape
Panic atomic blast destroying resolve, I turn
All smiles as I transform, Rage beast
Dissolved with a single wave, I hesitate
Gentile fondness calms the near eruption, Fear grips
Of damaged egos and countless psych bills, It speaks
In admiration and caring and request, I’m moved
Onward now to dinner and stores, I bide
As another eruption is sure to come, Savoring now
Pleasantries calm and warming glow, My patience
A forest after the fire, I’m ok
And we finally leave.
