A Place Within

Amid this earthly shell of clay and deep within my heart

the looming fears of life await attacking in the dark

Running from each memory and haunted by each fear

of pictures soft and comforting, each bringing a new tear

Of times long past, still fighting to stay

clouds form into dreams that hover far away

Yet still I fight to go along and beat my every sin

Searching for a simple way to find a place within
