Ascension

Forthwith I resign the life that once was,

No longer benign in the flesh that does,

Readily align my soul to my cause,

Asking to enshrine the immortal laws.

Only in creation can freedom reign,

Seek not elation confined in the brain,

For there damnation is walking with pain,

Hollow temptation’ of perusing fame.

The things that mattered were not ever real,

Illusion shattered by something you feel,

When flesh is scattered what did it conceal,

Finding our bettered hearts full of zeal.
