There's a nice idea and theme behind this piece, but I feel as if the rhyme scheme and rhythm is holding it back from really making an impact. It works for the first few lines, but it almost seems like the poem is being forced into this mold. Try breaking up the rhyme scheme and varying up the rhythm a little more.

I quite like the flow of the poem - it's songlike. But I'm not sure I'm really digging the theme - it seems a little unrefined. 'Open up your door' isn't much of a concluding line. Good job overall though.

The poem is really good before 'A tarnished Diamond.. ' appears. What does it mean anyway?

Your chosen theme of a certain independence of an individual to experience life as it comes is good but it keeps up only until the above mentioned line. 

Suggestion: Try building upon that part. The rest of the part can be used as an extrapolation of the idea but as it is, it's not making much sense to the chosen theme.

First, I agree with u/TrePismn that your poem has a songlike rhythm, and if it *were* a blues/rock song, I would probably wonder if "Baby, open up your door" was a euphemism for something. Second, instead of "Love in itself," consider just "Love itself" or "Love alone," and you need an apostrophe after "hearts" in "Without two *hearts'* connection," although you might want to consider changing it to "Without two hearts *connecting*" instead.
