That's not downplaying...that's smart PR to avoid answer. :( Please don't go!
This is worse than saying nothing.
But Dani Alves has urged his Brazil team-mate to consider leaving Anfield this summer, suggesting "he has the quality to play for Barcelona", and earlier this week reports in France claimed PSG had made an opening offer.
Go fuck yourself Dani
He just said that there was no offer and he doesn't know the details since his agent is dealing with it. He could have just said that he's happy at Liverpool if he wanted to downplay it.
It just sounds like he is waiting for the right offer, and so not discouraging any potential bids.
Fuck. Not one mention of us. :(
I'm not worried about him this season, but IMO if we don't at least finish top 4 and compete for the FA cup this year we will lose our magician next summer.
at that point i would not blame him. he would have invested 2.5 years in brendan's project and close to 2 years in klopp. if all that would amount to is 6 CL group games(we did come close to some titles like the premier league, league cup and EL), i would see where his ambition to win would be coming from. he would be a player entering his prime while we would be a team in the rebuilding stage, i doubt he would want to waste the prime years of his career fighting for a top 6 finish when he could be an important player for big clubs across europe
I wouldn't blame him either. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. Not many excuses this year since the only focus the team has is the league and FA cup.
I guess the Capitol One cup as well if they choose to go for that.
I mean if he does go atleast go to Barca or somewhere that will be decent.
Phil, please. Just tell them to fuck off.
We may get one more season out of him
Very cagey statement. I reckon he's off if a good offer comes in, and I don't blame him really. Shame to lose our best players every year (cue people saying they never rated him anyway). I think he'd light it up in a better squad.
Not the most positive of quotes is it. Sounds like his mind has checked out.
This is going to be very unpopular, but if he does go I think that would help us bring in a very big name in the attacking mid position. And while I would really miss Phil and some of his big time goals he has a tendency to drift out of games. So yeah, already preparing for the worst and trying to stay positive.
Could've said he's happy here but no mention of us at all there.Really doesn't look like he's staying imo.
I find more often than not players that dismiss rumours by saying they are happy to stay are just as likely to leave. They just want less attention on it
For younger South American players, every club is a feeder club to Real Madrid and Barca. Those are the teams and players they all grew up worshipping. He will probably go in this window if one of them puts in a good offer this Summer. If Liverpool aren't challenging for the league next year and looking strong going into the following season's CL, he'll take a money move next summer to any club willing to pay him $180k or more. That's the current reality, period.
There's really not a lot of anything, he said there was no offer and he's concentrating on Brazil, that's it.
A nothing story, I would be amazed if he didn't stay another season at the very least.
