Those speaker outputs aren't for banana plugs, they are for RCA type jacks like those on the ends of interconnect - (patch cord) - cables.

You could use soldered or solderless male RCA jacks on the end of your speaker wires. 2 ends of one speaker cable (R&L) connect to each individual jack and are held in place by set screws.

Since you don't sound like one who is experienced with soldering or may just not want to; I'll post a link to the solderless type that have set screws.

Thank you John that makes perfect sense and has left me feeling a bit stupid, it seems so obvious now, thanks for the link, now I know exactly what I'm looking for :)

You're welcome.

I was once where you are in this. Nobody I know was born knowing how to do all of this stuff.

Good luck, I hope it all works out for you.

Sorry John, do you know if these are the same?

I'm in the UK and struggling to find an exact match, thanks :)

Hard to say since they show no pic of the insides where I would expect to see some set screws to hold the wires. This is one of the things I don't like about Amazon and other sellers.

I found what looks like the exact same thing, but this add says nothing about them being solderless and there are no set screws either.

Perhaps the seller can look closely at their product and tell you more about it if you use the Customer Questions & Answers option on the site.

The image isn't clear enough to make out those connectors. Some low power and inexpensive receivers did use RCA plugs for speaker connections, though. Center + and shield - typically.
