One of these days/Isolated
One of these days.
Instead of hearing lyrics, I hope to hear the music.
Shedding all the heartaches with no need to still dispute it.
Destinations to move towards, no triggers in my town.
Walking with my head forward, instead of looking down.
I’ve got an appetite for danger, no appetite for food.
An isolated stranger, misunderstood as rude.
I really want my friends to know I’m alive, not yet a ghost.
Don’t want to leave my shoes untied. I want to “make the most”.
I want to be invited with no impulse to decline.
I wish that I could fight it, even I can’t change my mind.
The feelings that control me, like an untrained auto-pilot.
The ceilings that best know me, claim “it’s best to at least try it”.
If pity is my strong suit, and sympathy my trait.
The only way to regroup is to grease the squeaky gate.
Say yes to everything I’ll miss, say no to who I am.
Scratch lines through tasks on to-do lists, and tell myself I can.
See medication as a crutch, not an artificial limb.
Use it as prescribed, as much as I tend to cave in.
One day I hope to cleanse myself and live a life that’s clean.
But for now, accept the help, Hope one day to be seen.
So, I kind of wrote this in the format of song verses. I've been writing songs a lot lately but writing poems at night. I normally use metaphors and try to be more imaginative, but this one is more like a journal entry and self reflection, so it's pretty basic when it comes to vocabulary, flow, and structure. Thank you for your time!
