Kitchen Soliloquy

I stood at the sink, fingers pinching

at some speck near the drain, and for

the first time I think I thought

I felt like myself, today.

 

That kind of deja vu slaps you in the

face like lonely insomnia

only lonely

only I'm too tired now

so slap.

 

My toes feel fat in my shoes like

they're growing-

no, swelling. And yes growing can be

unhealthy, sometimes

I stand in the kitchen

at the sink, fingers pinching

at some speck near the drain and I think

I think I am losing my mind.
