Suffocating within
There are days when I feel so defeated, so hurt and empty.
The feeling of failure comes naturally, like a first kiss.
I fear the unknown as well as the known, I fear myself, my conscious, brain, spirit and lack of confidence.
My fear is the equivalent to a man who fears death, who fears irrelevancy, who fears fearing.
I am no one, I am a single body with little to no importance to this giant universe.
The ocean waves, the way they collide against each other, making imprints in the sand-- have more importance than I.
I suffocate in my own misery, unhappiness, defeat, insecurities and worthlessness.
I gasp for air, for help, but no one can hear me. They can't hear because my gasps and cries for help are covered up by laughter, anger and kindness.
I continue to gasp until the sky becomes as black as death, until my chest feels as heavy as an anchor in the ocean and until my loved ones become as distant as my thoughts.
