Pressure Problem

yet another newbie with a question. the diagnosis is moderate OSA, about 240 events per hour, with o2 sat as low as 81%.

after a few nights with my machine, i've discovered that while i'm happier with it than without it, i do wake up a couple times a night with the air blowing in my face so hard that the air pressure overcomes the straps and the mask leaks, usually into my eyes. breathing normally into the mask doesn't get the pressure to go back down; to reset things so i can go back to sleep, i have to turn the machine off and back on.

what am i missing here? does it need adjustment? do i?

thanks!

I had very similar issues at first and it turned out that what I thought was a well fitting mask was actually too big. Once I got the correct sized mask and got it adjusted well, I have not had those problems since.

Your pressure could be too high. I was prescribed 13 whatever's of pressure but they set it down to 9 because 13 was way too much and I couldn't sleep. I slept with 9 and at my first check up the doctor said my numbers looked fine at 9.

You need to readjust the fitting of your mask or you may need a new one entirely.
