Every week or two I get painful, itchy skin cysts on my feet near or between my toes. They are painful and itch, but if I cut and drain them, the pain and itching go away immediately. The fluid inside is clear.

I have had boxes from a number of providers, including Xirvik, Layered Technologies when they dealt with mere plebs, and Chmura. I presently use Feral and like them, except for some payment weirdness caused by my bank's anti-fraud system. But I periodically shop for better values, and that shopping has led me to ask about what real-world performance I can get out of an SYS ARM storage server.
The network pipe is fine for my needs, and the storage vs price value is out of this world. I am comfortable administering the server myself and prefer Debian.

My left side lights burn out with alarming frequency (every two to three months) and it's a huge issue because I do a lot of professional driving at night. The DRLs also die a lot.

Is there a maximum number of files for a backgrounds folder? I'm presently at about 50k and can't tell if it's randomly selecting from all of them, or only a subset.

this isn't actually a parenting question, it's a technical question.
each of my kids have lines of their own, and the lines are provided to them on condition that, among other things, they pass all their classes. one of my kids has transgressed this condition, so i need to implement the punishment.
the wrinkle is, i don't live with them and they're quite a ways away, so actually yanking the handset and sticking it in the closet is problematic (and his other parent isn't very cooperative).
i don't want to just cancel the line, and i don't have a problem continuing to pay for it; i just want the phone turned off until the punishment has run its course.

for a year or so now i've been sleeping on three hydralux cooling gel bed pillows (link, $25 at costco!), and i absolutely love love love them. when i go on trips and sleep in hotels, i take them with me. my girlfriend keeps a couple at her place for when i stay with her. i've become positively addicted to these things.
sadly, as i've discussed in another post (thank you for your help!), i'm a new APAP user having some trouble getting comfortable with the mask at night. i'm a stomach and side sleeper, and have been since i was a child. even when i fall asleep on an airplane or in a car, i have to turn on my side
yet another newbie with a question. the diagnosis is moderate OSA, about 240 events per hour, with o2 sat as low as 81%.
after a few nights with my machine, i've discovered that while i'm happier with it than without it, i do wake up a couple times a night with the air blowing in my face so hard that the air pressure overcomes the straps and the mask leaks, usually into my eyes. breathing normally into the mask doesn't get the pressure to go back down; to reset things so i can go back to sleep, i have to turn the machine off and back on.
what am i missing here? does it need adjustment? do i?

I have a 2014 Jetta TDI Value Edition with a manual transmission. i love love love my car and i drive it a lot: last week i crossed 130k miles. (yes, i did the timing belt at about 110k. thank yoooooou goodwill package.)
since i bought it, however, i've had an issue getting into first gear.
when at a dead stop, i push in the clutch and move the shifter to first ... except that when i let the clutch out the car moves slowly/dies because it's actually in third. clutch back in, down and back up, sometimes we wind up back in third, sometimes in first. if we're in third, do it again. usually after two or three of these (with people honking at me -- they get an automatic finger, it's a reflex
My employer classifies most people working for them as 1099 contractors.
One of the effects of this classification, they tell me, is that they are unable to pay contractors with any kind of direct deposit. They claim this is a QB limitation, not something they impose themselves.
The practical upshots of this are that I must drive an extra hour every week to get my checks (an unnecessary time and gas expense and service delay for my customers) and my bank charges me monthly service fees because I don't have DD.
My only other option is to have them mail my check; but this would expose me to delay and loss at the USPS.
So, my question: Are modern versions of QB really so backwards that they

so i tried to add the local-only TV option, at a stupidly-expensive $20/mo, to my service, instead of the $30/mo unlimited data fee (which you have to call in to get so they can upsell you, natch). but if i try to do this on the web, they ALSO want a $200 install fee. for a free cable box i will never use because i don't actually own, don't need, and don't want, a television.
