It is the little things EA/CG could do right but choose to screw up
The credit heist event now running is a prime example of this. They launch the event today, a day before several characters get the scoundrel tag. This may prevent folks from completing this for the first time that were excited about finally being able to do this.
The right way to do this for your customers would have been to release the event right after the tag changes. You've chosen to do the worst thing possible by doing this right before the tag changes. That is a big F you to your customers.
Sad but expected...

It's an F you to those of us who are waiting on the tag change, but it's a big "thank you" for those of us who spent time, effort, credits, droids, etc on farming up other Scoundrels to do it before.
I agree with both sides of this, today's event was the first time I passed both waves so it's sad that I finally invested enough yet now I no longer need it.
I'm hoping they add a third wave with higher difficulty.
How would this be considered a thank you? Seriously, even considering the completely rational thing that happened was the Heist just had bad timing.
Even so why could they not see this happening and move it by one day considering the circumstances? It's a "thank you" because the event eventually rolled back around for us to play? I guess so, I thanked em when it came out I don't see how this is a "Big Thank You" to people who can already complete it. It's just business as usual with the Heist coming back.
It would be a big Thank You to EVERYONE had they simply moved it a day ahead so everyone can benefit from the Tag change. Something that shouldn't have been an issue to begin with had they done their jobs correctly.
They were trying to help alleviate the credit strain for ALL PLAYERS when introducing this event. We got about 7-8 scoundrels before the tag change. They didn't stop to think once that those 7-8 characters may not be very common? "Fuck it they can build a team around it. And make it require 5 unlocked characters, none of that 3 toon bullshit."
It's not the fact that it's hard it's the fact they blatantly don't give a shit but pretend they do with stuff like changing the Scoundrel tags then releasing the Scoundrel credit event a day before they do so. So ya.. A big FUCK YOU is exactly what we got.
Coming from someone who got the full 1M today for the first time.
This is exactly how it's a "thank you" for those players who devoted valuable resources into unlocking, leveling, and gearing Scoundrels just for this event. Some people chose to use those resources elsewhere and (theoretically) gained an advantage in whatever area they were focusing. So, for one last time at least, before the tag change becomes official, it allows for those players to get the credits while denying the ones who focused on other aspects.
I see what you mean. But, the line had be drawn somewhere. Either they start and end the event just before the tag change and piss off those of us waiting for the change. Or, they start it up after the change has taken place and have to hear bitching from those of us who put effort into Scoundrels beforehand.
Hope that makes sense.
"So for one last time at least... snip"
What? The whole point of them adding the scoundrel tag to 88 Han and Guard is because they should have been like that in the first place not because they're helping us out. They fixed another mistake and were supposed to say thank you for not getting to benefit from that fix for another week or so? That's lame as fuck. And a big FU as I've stated before.
"For those of us who put effort into scoundrels beforehand"
Are you kidding me? Like I said before they should have been scoundrels to begin with. It was one of the first points brought up when this event started.
Let's make this perfectly clear. This was CG FIXING A MISTAKE this is not CG expanding the roster of the Credit Heist event to make things easier. That may be a result of what they fixed but not the motivation behind it.
So if you're expecting to get on your high horse and bitch about how you 'built your scoundrels first and this is unfair that scoundrels are being tagged as scoundrels'. Just think about that. It makes no sense.
Just to be clear...I do not have these Scoundrels unlocked and have thus never beaten the challenge and have thus welcomed the change to STHan and IG88. I am not on any high horse.
I'm just saying it's not going to be a clean cut for either side.
And to be fair, we all had to deal with the mistake of them not making STHan and IG88 scoundrels from the beginning. That's what I'm saying. Therefore, some players CHOSE to still go gear up shit scoundrel characters just to do this challenge.
It doesn't even matter. I don't know why I'm even spending time on this...
the "thank you" argument is a scarcity mindset ... it harms nobody for the event to be easier for someone else. In fact, the credit crunch is harmful for the community & thus the game.
I agree that it harms nobody for the event to be easier for everyone MOVING FORWARD. But there are some players (not me) that invested resources into characters they may not have otherwise just to complete this event. Either way, it's going to help everyone in the long run and I guess, to me, this just seems like a pretty insignificant complaint at this point. Oh well.
I spent about 2 months investing most of what I generated into scoundrels ... first time I completed both levels was last time around.
If the game is to stick around the mindset of making the community better must be the focus.
Agree again. I'm just trying to rationalize for some others in here WHY this isn't necessarily a direct slap in the face.
You don't understand the point nation20. This game is about resource management, and those of us who invested in scoundrels paid a heavy price to get it to where we could complete this event. With these new tags many will get handed what we had to work for, so the price is paid through opportunity cost. I hate to sound bitchy but try and look beyond your perspective, because it does harm people.
With that said the new tags make sense and I'm happy for the people that are getting a free boost to their credit supply, but please don't act like they are conning you out of something when it's actually the other people who are getting screwed.
Incorrect. Outside of your own guild, the goal of this game is to collect characters and gear and make them strong enough to beat other teams. The less credits other players have, the fewer upgrades they can make to their roster. They make fewer upgrades, your team performs better against them.
The credit heist was introduced as a new channel to earn credits. The caveat was that you need characters from a largely ignored character tag. Don't have any scoundrels? Bummer, looks like you've used your resources elsewhere and I'm sure that means you're doing far better than other people in certain Mod challenges. If everyone had access to all resources immediately, those resources would be devalued.
Right there is why we can't have nice things ... scarcity mindset. Fixed pie mindset.
Oh well.
Sounds like some Tony Robbins bullshit.
Do you know how much I've spent on my scoundrel team? It's going to take many more events before i get that money back. Now it appears that investing it was a waste of time and money.
You can't have all the nice things, but you can have some. Scarcity mindset is not a bad thing. It leads to the idea of opportunity cost, or what is important to spend my currency on. It means prioritizing characters and gear. It's the only thing keeping arena teams just a little bit different, because not everyone has chosen to prioritize the same characters first. It's extremely important in games, especially mobile.
In the former situation, the people who farmed original scoundrels aren't losing out on the event. If the game is going to be improved it has to be improved at some point, not delayed so that veteran players benefit exclusively. There is no thank you, only an F you to those who have been shafted.
