Nexus 6p vs Xperia z5

OP Replied

I'm having a real hard time deciding what phone to get next. I'm coming from an HTC M8, which has been great, but it's old and the screen has gone.

I'm looking for a sim free phone. Big points for me are good performance, battery life and a good camera. I don't game too much or at all really, but I tend to take a lot of photos. Hence why I've ended up with these 2.

I think I'm leaning towards the Z5 because of its camera, expandable storage and it's waterproof too which is a bonus, but I've heard such great things about the Nexus and it gets great reviews, and Sony phones don't usually come with a great rep.

Also if theres any others I should consider let me know (I've looked at the OnePlus 3, its delivery time is too long for me, need it within the next week or so).

I'm based in the UK so Xiaomi phones are a no go for me unfortunately.

Thanks!

How important are updates to you? Because the Nexus 6P is the clear winner here. The only reason not to get it is if you hate phablets.

Yeah another good point! I think this is pretty well solved. I just ordered the 64gb. Pretty excited now. I think the difference in cameras will be negligible, for what I want anyway.

The camera on 6P is simply amazing. Battery life on Z5 is way better.

I have heard so many good things about the Nexus, I ordered one! The fast charge on the Nexus makes up for a slightly less battery.

You won't regret it. Nexus receives the most love by Google, and by the community. Congrats!

I recently transferred from an M8 to the Z5 (around a month ago) and I couldn't fault the Z5 at all. Fast, amazing battery life, amazing 23MP camera and 4K video recording, it looks stunning and is waterproof, which is very handy here in the UK with the amount of rain we've been getting
