Keep Mitch? Yes or No?

Mitch is done here. Rua, Gallo, Profar, others can work 1B. Find a Steve Pearce type cheap guy on the market too.

Mitch will get a nice 7-12 mil a year deal, but that money is better spent on pitching and possibly Desmond.

He's a new iteration of Mike Napoli. Love the guy. Lots of value. Someone else will overpay and we won't get to keep him. We will be happy for him as a fanbase and alright without him as a team.

I'd love to keep Moreland around actually, but think we're going to just let him go for nothing. I doubt we offer him the QO as it's quite high and we need that money for other things.

Just think there's no room for Moreland. If Choo DH's next season, that will leave 1B and LF open for Gallo and Profar with Rua backing up both spots. DeShields will also be around to serve as our 4th-OF'er.

Moreland deserves to go to a team that will make him their starting 1B'man or at least will give him a lot more PT than we would.

I was really upset when the Rangers got rid of crush Davis because his defense was ridiculously good. But mitch has stepped up in the last few years to show that his ability at first base is well above average. He's streaky as fuck, but his defense and his hot streaks are good enough to keep around for the right price. That being said, I wouldn't be sad to see him go to a team that will play him every day, as even if we sign him, he will platoon with profar, Gallo, or rua

If he can come back on a team friendly deal, yes. His defense is extremely valuable which will cause him to get a more lucrative deal than we will likely offer.

I love Mitch, to the degree that I just bought a Mitch jersey. But I don't think we keep him. Too many other 1B in our system that offer more on offense. :(

I know Moreland is well liked around these parts but he's an average 1B. Career slash of .258/.319/.448, career wRC+ of 101, 4.8fWAR (almost half of which is from 2015). No need to keep him around, someone will sign him but it won't be us.

I'm certain someone will pay Mitch more than we think he's worth.

I'd rather try and use the money to sign Desmond

Been a huge fan since Game 3 in '10. But I don't think they keep him, and I think that's the right move.
