Which FE 1070?
I am building a PC with view of purchasing one card now and another in the not so distant future. Which is why I am going with blower style FE cards.
I do not know which one to pick though, I am torn between the EVGA FE (great customer service) and Zotac FE (2 more years warranty than EVGA). Beyond these two points, is their performance the same?
Which would you pick? I am also open to other options if you know of better a better card.
Am I right in wanting FE for multiple gpu setup? What if I get one FE and one open air, would that produce better temps?

The cards are physically identical and have the same base clock. FE cards are just resold by board partners and manufactured by nvidia or whoever they're contracting.
Ehh I feel like this is more of a myth that gets passed about a lot since its vaguely rooted in science and plausible, but anecdotally I believe that unless you're severely restricting airflow in your case the raw cooling power of the aftermarket coolers easily exceeds the supposed benefit of the blower cooler. I understand the logic but I'm not positive on its veracity.
But which of the two, Zotac (longer warranty) or EVGA (great cs) would you go with?
I see your point about questioning veracity of FE cards' suitability for multi gpu set ups. Anecdotally too, I have seen people with two open air cards reporting very high temps on the top card.
Or you could go with the cheapest card you can get and watercool it once you get another one. Just like aftermarket coolers FE coolers suck in sli. They could be a little more stable because they don't depend in great airflow, but the cooler is still suboptimal.
I know watercooling is the most sensible option for multi card setups, but its my first build so trying not to mess with watercooling for now, knowing my luck I will get all sorts of leaks and this machine is for work so trying to get it to be as reliable as possible.
