How this game handles Linebackers

Anyone else dislike the 3-4 vs 4-3 linebacker set up in this game?

First, they have guys like Phernell McPhee with 4-3 Chemistry wtf? And hightower who would be perfect in 4-3 with 3-4?

But even regardless of chemistry it seems like guys can either rush the passer or cover but not both. Is it because a pass rush guy than can cover is OP? Just seems to split, and like MOST linebackers in the game are built to run stop and blitz but passing to TEs and RBs is like 98% of everyones gameplan.

Thats not really reflective of real football no? 3-4 linebackers have to cover, almost every play 1 of them does.

Even in this game how do you guys that run 3-4 select your OLBs? DO you just not value zone and man coverage stats? Do you think speed + awr +prec really is all that matters?

Is also frustrating because the guys i get for 4-3 that can struggle in run support and pressure, and this game seems to think DTs are irrelevant.

Hightower is both a solid rusher and a good coverage guy, same guys for someone like Barr. Mack also has okay coverage stats, can easily guard flat zones.

Not sure why McPhee has 4-3 chem, can only imagine it's stupidity/the need to have a 4-3 chem elite LB.

I get hybrid guys to play in my 3-4. Right now I'm running with Hightower at ROLB and been cycling through Barr, Mack and Von at LOLB. The LOLBs do a solid enough job of covering the zones I assign them to but I rarely use them in man and if I do I avoid them on potential out routes and have a user over the middle

Ive only been able to use Hightower in DC and dude was a beast usering picks. I would be way off my man and hed still jump in and grab it. It was awesome.

Yeah books are awesome. Have you read "The Beast" yet? It's well worth your time.

They just completely borked the Bears in MUT. Their Color Rush has 4-3 Chem as well as McPhee. They run a freaking 3-4. It's annoying.

Speed is a huge stat for OLBs. I run a 3-4 and the ability to get their zone fast and stretch outside runs is key. I user my LOLB 90 percent of time so that helps eliminate some problems your talking about. And try to have a stud ROLB. My current setup is Clay Mathews and Suggs. Suggs is on the slower side than I would like but seems to always be in the right place at the right time and make big plays

I run a 4-3 and I've only ever had 2 guys at ROLB and only ever had one guy at LOLB. ROLB's were Zach Brown and Sean Lee, LOLB is Telvin Smith, and while all 3 of them are insane in coverage I found that they were doing a great job with outside runs too which is really important this year with the amount of people who run stretches. I use them in man too and weirdly I find that in man coverage if the other player runs the ball its way more likely to get shut down by one of the outside linebackers

I have Hali and Houston in my 3-4.

i have to run telvin smith at ROLB because there isn't any good cover rolb's that aren't slower than dogshit rolling uphill. Ingram looks ok, but he can't cover, lee is too slow. i guess Lavonte david would be better, again, if he could actually keep up with any TE or RB in the game (he can't)

bothers me even more since in a 4-3 lolb is almost never on the field, and rolb gets a solid blitz lane out of the dollar...i have to do a lot of subbing.

I mean I run the 81 David at Rolb and he seems to do exceptionally well. I alternate between him and Mosley as a user ( depending on TE lineups ) just undercut everything at a shallow angle and it should work for you.
