How safe is cell ripper?
so i came across this when i was doing a wander through the nexus. i hadn't heard of it before but it sounds good. has anybody used this to success?
if this is more widely known than i knew, is there a place people post saves for settlement theft?
i have played through the game probably a dozen times now. and basic settlement building has lost some appeal.

There are some saves on the nexus you can steal, and hopefully if/when this tool becomes more fleshed out it will become more common for folks to share saves for loading settlements.
I've used it on my own saves to move some of my bigger settlements onto my new character and there are a few oddities I've noticed so far.
I had to transfer one of my settlements 3 or 4 times.
It would cause crashing at game start, so back up your saves and load the game after each settlement transfer and if it loads, make a new save.
Power producing items don't seem to work properly on the new save and need to be scrapped and then placed again. Not a huge issue, BUT:
You can't scrap or repair anything your new character doesn't have the capability to build himself. This was a particular issue because my new character is a low intelligence, low charisma character. As such, I couldn't repair my large generators and had to replace them with 2 medium generators each.
Anything considered an entity will not transfer over, this means settlers, mannequins, some turrets and oddly enough Wasteland Workshop cages. (My Brahmin pin now has 3 big holes in it where the cages used to be :P)
A note: I did not use any mods that affect settlements. I did this on purpose as I've seen comments on Cell Ripper that mods cause more issues (which isn't surprising at all) and I was building these settlements specifically to have them transfer over.
