Positives: Just a warning, this is gonna be another insanely positive review. That's because Johnny Hockey is easily the best offensive player I have used thus far. Starting with his skating, he is the fastest forward in the game save for Duchene and maybe Kane. His ability is undoubtedly the best in HUT, one of my favorite ways to score was to simply skate behind the net, turn on a dime and use Gaudreau's speed to burn the defender and go to the slot.

Johnny shoots with the best of them as well. While he won't clip from the angles that Kane and Ovi will, if you shoot top corner from anywhere in the high slot it is going in 99% of the time. The Calgary winger also has the puck on a string, his puck control and ability are on the level of a guy like Mcdavid or Kuznetsov. Essentially he is a notch below the best puck handlers like Crosby and Tavares, but still an elite dangler.

Negatives: First off, Johnny Gaudreau is still like 12 years old. So when playing against grown men, he will not fare well physically, and gets pushed around quite easily, although I find that his speed and agility is often enough to overcome this if you know how to use him.

Secondly, Johnny is subpar defensively. His pokes are pretty terrible and he often finds himself out of position in the defensive zone. I used him on a line with Toews and Pavelski to overcome this, but I would recommend using him in a top six, offensive role.

Finally, Johnny Gaudreau and I had a contract dispute last summer that still has not been resolved. Johnny is asking for 8 mil, but since I am a cheap GM who doesn't appreciate the brilliance of Gaudreau I only want to give him six mil per year. He has not yet reported to training camp and is in danger of holding out if I don't pay him the money he is owed.

X-Factor: Playmaking. Johnny is listed as a Sniper, but his playmaking ability is his best asset. Toews and Pavelski basically just had to stand in front of the net and wait for Gaudreau to sauce them a pass and they could slam dunk it. This is really what makes him so dynamic, he can snipe or pass depending on the situation. Johnny Gaudreau is the best 60k you can spend in NHL 17, and its not close. Thanks for reading.

On Deck: Mcdavid, Pacioretty, Toews, Kuznetsov, Ovechkin
