My photo is appearing on websites that I never uploaded a photo to.

In the past week I registered for two websites, and on both websites a small photo of myself appears next to my username. This is a photo I have used in the past as a profile photo for a few sites, including LinkedIn and Meetup.com However, I don't think I am using it currently for any sites.

The two sites are Doorkeeper and the Oanda developers forum. I have never uploaded any images to either of these sites.

A long time ago I did sign up for some sort of universal sign-in website. Something like "single sign on" or "universal login". However I forget the website and what I uploaded to it.

I'm not to sure about how these systems work, but it might be worth a shot to just right click the image and copy it's location and then paste that into the address bar. If the website grabs the image from another server, it will lead you there. There's also a chance that they cached ( download it so they don't have to rely on the other server) your photo, which means it will link back to the same website
