Here's my understanding. Is this accurate? What else is popular?

  • Facebook is not used much
  • Mixi has gone by the wayside
  • Tinder is good for dating but not really "social media" per se
  • WeChat is used but mainly among Chinese
  • KakaoTalk is like WhatsApp, not good for networking
  • LinkedIn is a cesspool of shitty recruiters
  • Twitter
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest
  • LINE

In the past week I registered for two websites, and on both websites a small photo of myself appears next to my username. This is a photo I have used in the past as a profile photo for a few sites, including LinkedIn and Meetup.com However, I don't think I am using it currently for any sites.

The two sites are Doorkeeper and the Oanda developers forum. I have never uploaded any images to either of these sites.

A long time ago I did sign up for some sort of universal sign-in website. Something like "single sign on" or "universal login". However I forget the website and what I uploaded to it.

Here are mine

  • Bring ear plugs
  • Play new machines exclusively, if possible
  • Bring 10,000 yen to ensure sufficient number of spins
  • Choose a machine that hasn't had many jackpots in the past few days
  • Choose a machine that has had a high number of spins today
  • Count balls - if I can't find a sweet spot on the dial that puts at least one in ten balls in, I move to another machine
  • When the fever is over, pack up and leave. I got what I came for.

What do you think about a "squatting" strategy of using the same machine all day?

EDIT: Added ear plugs, new machines

Sorry if this is a rudimentary question, but I want to make sure they're not trying to be sneaky and start billing me for a subscription or something. My Japanese is so-so, and all I could gather from the rep on the phone is that they want to set up my TV and it's (?) free. Also something about TV maintenance.

I come from the land of Comcast, so I naturally fear cable companies.

Wives control the family money

Women get their own subway cars

Mothers spend more time with their children and thus have more influence on them

Men are pigeonholed as worker bee breadwinners

It sounds to me like Japan is run by soccer moms.

I downloaded the source from here

https://stedolan.github.io/jq/download/

According to the instructions, I run:

# ./configure
# make
# make install

(quoting the documentation: "You can build it using the usual ./configure && make && sudo make install rigmarole.")
